Mobile Engineer – Facilities Management

About the role

Galliford Try is looking for a Mobile Engineer to join its Facilities Management (GTFM) team. The role involves carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple GTFM sites, ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks covering fabric, mechanical, electrical and non‑fabric works.
• Follow instructions from line management and the Helpdesk system, adhering to company, client and site policies.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation and building plans to execute tasks accurately.
• Use portable electronic devices to receive, update and close jobs, keeping precise records of work completed.
• Participate in on‑call duties as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in multi‑discipline maintenance (fabric, mechanical, electrical, non‑fabric).
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks across different locations.
• Strong communication skills and a positive, team‑oriented attitude.
• Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in building services, electrical, mechanical or related fields.

Required skills

• Interpretation of engineering drawings and building plans.
• Use of digital job management systems.
• Operation of portable electronic devices for task updates.
• Knowledge of health, safety and legislative standards for maintenance operations.
