Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer – Night Shift

About the role

An established manufacturing business is looking for a night‑shift Maintenance Engineer to keep high‑precision CNC and production equipment running smoothly. The role is fully nocturnal, requiring autonomous work while upholding strict safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on CNC machines and other manufacturing equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns, diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults, and restore equipment quickly.
• Support continuous‑improvement and reliability projects across the site.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures, including lock‑out/tag‑out and permit‑to‑work systems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a manufacturing or precision‑engineering environment.
• Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, apprenticeship) in mechanical, electrical or multi‑skilled engineering.
• Strong mechanical background with the ability to perform electrical fault‑finding.
• Experience with PPM and reactive breakdown maintenance.
• Comfortable working independently on night shifts.
