Part‑time Housekeeper (Bedmaker) – Cambridge

About the role

Join a friendly housekeeping team at a Cambridge college, providing a welcoming environment for students, fellows, staff and visitors. You will maintain accommodation standards and support the smooth operation of college facilities on a part‑time basis.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and prepare student bedrooms, guest rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to a high standard.
• Make beds and ready rooms for arriving students, conference delegates and guests.
• Maintain offices, stairways, corridors and public spaces according to cleaning schedules.
• Replenish cleaning supplies and monitor stock levels.
• Report maintenance issues, damages and health & safety concerns promptly.
• Provide cover for colleagues during leave or sickness and work across different college sites when required.

Required profile

• Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience in a hotel, college or similar setting is desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail and a positive, professional attitude.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends.

• Permanent part‑time contract (37.5 hours per week) with shifts between 6:30 am and 4:00 pm.
