About the role

This position offers an experienced Buyer the chance to step up as a Procurement Manager, overseeing procurement operations for an industrial and manufacturing business based in Widnes. You will drive cost‑effective sourcing, supplier performance, and supply‑chain efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies that deliver cost‑effective sourcing of materials.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, timely delivery, and compliance with contracts.
• Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favourable terms.
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies and industry regulations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and optimise inventory levels.
• Prepare regular procurement reports for senior management.
• Identify and mitigate risks within the supply‑chain process.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement or supply‑chain management.
• Strong negotiation and contract‑management abilities.
• Excellent analytical skills for evaluating market data and supplier performance.
