Production Operative

About the role

We are recruiting a Production Operative to join a specialist manufacturing facility that produces highly technical and bespoke products in West Thurrock. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop a long‑term career within a technical production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily blending and production activities safely and efficiently.
• Handle tanker receipts and despatches.
• Carry out product blending, movements and decanting.
• Maintain high housekeeping and equipment standards.
• Follow production plans, work instructions and safety procedures.
• Monitor and report production progress and operational issues.
• Support continuous improvement and identify operational efficiencies.
• Maintain accurate stock and production records using ERP systems.
• Participate in emergency response duties and act as a Fire Marshal when required.

Required profile

• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Practical, hands‑on approach to work.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.
• Strong awareness of health & safety and process safety.
• Good problem‑solving skills and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Physical capability to work within a production environment and rotating shifts.
• Must have a driver’s licence due to the location.
