Purchasing Buyer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Purchasing Buyer to join a market‑leading, award‑winning engineering client in the Aylesbury region. The role offers a competitive salary and the chance to develop your procurement career within a fast‑paced, forward‑thinking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Raise, manage and process purchase orders for goods and services accurately.
• Support invoice and goods receipt (GRPO) processes.
• Prepare import/export documentation and liaise with customs where required.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding quotations, order progress, deliveries, pricing queries and availability issues.
• Maintain supplier relationships and negotiate terms.

Required profile

• Proven buying, procurement or purchasing experience, preferably in engineering, manufacturing or technical industries.
• CIPS qualification or equivalent supply‑chain certification.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes and supplier management.
• Familiarity with imports, exports, freight and customs clearance is advantageous.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP, MRP or SAP systems.
• Ability to process purchase orders and manage documentation.
• Negotiation and supplier relationship management capabilities.
