Quality Engineer – NPI / Programme-Based

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Quality Engineer to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and programme‑based activities for a leading aerospace and defence manufacturer. You will work closely with engineering, production and programme teams to ensure new products meet stringent quality standards from concept through to full production.

Key responsibilities

• Embed quality requirements throughout the NPI lifecycle, from concept to production.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements for compliance.
• Prepare and support First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and related documentation.
• Raise, track and resolve non‑conformances, participating in MRB activities and corrective actions.
• Manage concession requests and liaise with customers as needed.
• Support APQP and PPAP processes and maintain associated documentation.
• Conduct inspections using manual tools, Keyence systems and CMM equipment.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to implement robust processes.
• Drive continuous improvement, waste reduction and efficiency gains.
• Ensure adherence to QMS/IMS systems and aerospace/defence standards, and support internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Background in inspection is preferred.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience in aerospace, defence or other highly regulated sectors.
• Good understanding of end‑to‑end manufacturing processes.
