Quality Inspector (PCB)

About the role

The PCB Quality Inspector ensures that printed circuit boards meet company, customer and industry quality standards. Working on the production floor in Waterlooville, you will perform inspections throughout the manufacturing process to guarantee reliable, high‑quality electronic products.

Key responsibilities

• Perform visual and microscopic inspections of bare and assembled PCBs.
• Check products against engineering drawings, customer specifications, IPC standards and internal procedures.
• Identify and document defects such as soldering issues, component placement errors, damaged traces and cosmetic imperfections.
• Conduct first‑article, in‑process and final inspections, verifying dimensions, tolerances and workmanship.
• Complete inspection reports, non‑conformance reports (NCRs) and other quality documentation.
• Support root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action activities.
• Collaborate with production, engineering and quality teams to resolve defects.
• Monitor processes, recommend improvements and maintain calibration records for inspection equipment.
• Participate in internal audits and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions and technical specifications.
• Experience using microscopes, magnifiers, calipers and other inspection tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and familiarity with quality management systems.
• Good verbal and written communication abilities.
