Technologist – Specification & Artwork Lead

About the role

The Technologist will lead the specifications team, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards. You will act as the primary liaison between internal teams and external partners, driving continuous improvement and supporting the food‑legislation compliance function.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the specifications team to achieve effective project delivery.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Coach, mentor and up‑skill team members to build capability.
• Manage creation, maintenance and accuracy of customer and brand specifications and related documentation.
• Ensure all specifications and artwork comply with relevant legislation and internal standards.
• Oversee approval processes, paperwork completion and critical‑path management for specifications and artwork.
• Provide data for certification, accreditation and support QMS administration.
• Monitor food legislation issues and advise the business accordingly.

Required profile

• Proven experience working closely with retailer specification and artwork systems.
• In‑depth knowledge of food legislation and labelling requirements.
• Desirable science qualification and supervisory experience.
