Trainee Buyer - Construction

About the role

A fabulous new opportunity to start an exciting career in the construction sector with an established business that provides specialist services to some of the UK’s largest new‑homes builders.

Key responsibilities

• Contact suppliers, place orders and arrange deliveries of materials to sites.
• Liaise with suppliers to check stock availability and delivery lead times.
• Keep Contracts Managers updated on orders and any anticipated delays.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and the contracts team.
• Check supplier invoices against orders received and resolve discrepancies.
• Answer phones, make calls to suppliers and respond to emails.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills, especially over the phone.
• Organised approach and ability to follow processes.
• Minimum of 5 GCSEs with passes in Maths and English.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and email.
• Some previous work experience.

What we offer

• £28,000‑£30,000 per year, dependent on experience.
• 20 days holiday plus bank holidays and three additional days at Christmas.
• Pension and bonus scheme.
• Office hours: Monday‑Thursday 7:30‑16:30, Friday 7:30‑15:30.
