Managing Director – Life Sciences Consulting

About the role

This senior position leads a flagship Life Sciences portfolio for a top‑tier change and transformation consultancy. Based in London with a hybrid working model, the Managing Director will own strategic client relationships, drive revenue growth and ensure delivery excellence for major pharmaceutical, biotech and med‑tech organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Own and expand a multi‑million‑pound Life Sciences portfolio, acting as the Executive Client Lead for key accounts.
• Define and execute account growth and sector strategy, originating and selling large, complex transformation programmes.
• Lead cross‑functional engagements covering change, technology and transformation delivery.
• Manage P&L, margin, forecasting and overall portfolio performance.
• Build, lead and mentor high‑performing consulting teams to sustain long‑term capability.
• Enhance market presence through senior stakeholder engagement and thought leadership.

Required profile

• Current Managing Director, Partner or Senior Director within a consultancy or professional services firm.
• Proven experience leading Life Sciences client accounts with annual revenues of £5 million+.
• Demonstrated track record of revenue growth, account expansion and commercial ownership.
• Experience scaling consulting teams and delivering outcome‑focused programmes.
• Hands‑on leadership style with full P&L accountability.

Required skills

• Deep domain expertise in Pharma, Biotech or MedTech.
• Strong network of senior stakeholders across global Life Sciences organisations.
• Ability to originate, sell and deliver complex, cross‑functional transformation projects.
