Electrical Contracts Manager – Social Housing

About the role

Our client, a well‑established social housing repairs & maintenance contractor, is looking for an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to lead the delivery of electrical works across a portfolio of social housing properties in Stratford.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the operational delivery of electrical contracts covering planned maintenance, responsive repairs, voids and capital works.
• Lead and support a team of supervisors, electricians and specialist subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient service delivery.
• Oversee installations, rewires, consumer‑unit upgrades, EICRs, remedial works and communal electrical systems.
• Ensure all works comply with BS7671 Wiring Regulations, health & safety legislation and client specifications.
• Monitor contract performance against KPIs, SLAs and budgets, driving improvements where needed.
• Conduct regular site inspections, quality and safety audits to maintain high workmanship standards.
• Plan resources, materials and programmes to meet agreed timescales and budgets.
• Review certification and testing records, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
• Build strong relationships with clients, residents, supply‑chain partners and internal departments.
• Resolve technical issues, customer complaints and operational challenges promptly.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing electrical contracts within the social housing sector.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a multidisciplinary team.
• In‑depth knowledge of current electrical legislation, including BS7671.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
