Supply Teacher – Flexible Primary School Roles

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking qualified and aspiring teachers, HLTAs and cover supervisors for flexible supply positions across primary schools in Colchester and surrounding areas. These roles can be daily, short‑term, long‑term, full‑time or part‑time, allowing you to fit work around your lifestyle while staying in education.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons and maintain high‑quality learning outcomes.
• Provide classroom cover when the regular teacher is absent.
• Lead learning using pre‑planned materials or your own expertise.
• Support pupils’ progress across a range of year groups.
• Create a positive, inclusive and well‑managed classroom environment.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of all learners.
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure continuity of learning.
• Provide clear feedback to support pupil development.

Required profile

• Qualified Primary Teachers (QTS) or Early Career Teachers.
• Higher Level Teaching Assistants ready for classroom responsibility.
• Experienced Cover Supervisors.
• Unqualified teachers with relevant classroom experience.
• Educators seeking flexible, rewarding work in local primary schools.
