Trainee Technical and Production Programmer

About the role

Rare and exciting permanent opportunity for a motivated individual to develop into a technical expert within a supportive manufacturing team. The role involves providing technical support to internal and external customers, creating and optimising CNC programmes, and assisting with the testing and implementation of new products.

Key responsibilities

• Create clear, accurate, production‑ready manufacturing information for new product ranges and integrate them into manufacturing processes.
• Program and optimise CNC machinery (full training provided) to ensure efficient, right‑first‑time production.
• Collaborate with the Business Systems team on testing, implementation of new products, technical change requests and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Manage tooling, monitor usage and maintain appropriate stock levels to minimise downtime.
• Work with Sales Order Processing and manufacturing teams to assess product capabilities and communicate any constraints.
• Provide prompt technical support and guidance to internal departments, customers and external stakeholders.
• Adopt a hands‑on approach on the shop floor, supporting machine operation and production activities when required.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, work instructions and manufacturing information to ensure quality and consistency.

Required profile

• Strong work ethic and excellent attention to detail.
• Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop technical expertise.
• High standard of written and spoken English and good communication skills.
• Quick learner who enjoys problem‑solving and building a long‑term career in manufacturing.
