Civils Foreperson

About the role

Breedon Group plc is seeking a Civils Foreperson to lead frontline civil engineering and construction activities at Marybank Quarry, Western Isles. You will be responsible for delivering safe, efficient and high‑quality work while fostering a strong health, safety and environmental culture on site.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise site‑based civil engineering activities, ensuring work meets safety, efficiency and quality standards.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to maximise productivity and project performance.
• Ensure all works follow approved drawings, specifications, risk assessments and method statements.
• Conduct site briefings, toolbox talks and daily planning with operational teams.
• Monitor progress against programme requirements and report issues, delays or resource needs to management.
• Maintain site records, daily diaries, inspections and quality checks.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors and the wider project team to ensure successful delivery.
• Provide hands‑on guidance, mentoring and support to site teams.

Required skills

• Extensive operational experience in civil engineering, construction, groundworks, infrastructure, drainage, roads or utilities.

• Ability to manage frontline resources and optimise outputs.
